We have a washer in our apt!!!

Wow! I think I am going to do this more often... not email for a week then come to the computer and it's like Christmas all over again! 22 emails today! Yes! Well I am sorry for not being able to email last week... It was a little... crazy! However, I am transferred to a new area with a new comp! :) And I am still alive! p.s. It's warming right up!

Well I think I will have to back track and tell you of a couple things that happened two weeks ago while I was still in New City!

-Okay… when I get home, remind me of the bed bug story to tell you. Enough said. (and no it wasn't in my bed)
-Our two baptismal candidates couldn't be baptized on the 16th because their mom was going to be out of town... and she is a non-member and she really needed to be there. But don't worry! They were baptized yesterday, the 23rd and everything went perfect! Except I wasn't there... but it's all good! It's not about me! Just to know that they made that covenant with our Father in Heaven is enough to bring me happiness! :)

-I got a call on Saturday to ask me to Train another new missionary!!! Of course I said yes! :)

-Sunday night I get the text that I am getting transferred which meant that I am going to an area that me or my new comp doesn't know anything about! SUPER NERVOUS!!! (You call it white washing I guess... we call in being doubled in...)
-So Monday I was told I needed to be at a meeting in Morristown to talk about how to train again! :) That was nice! Then when I came back I spent the rest of the day saying goodbye to all my friends in New City, hence why I didn't email! :) Soorrryyy... but that was so hard... having to say goodbye to everyone... I was there for 6 months! I love those people sooo much! :( Our last convert was the hardest to say goodbye to... She is the sweetest! And also Sister Legg!!! My comp! She was the hardest to have to leave... :( But that's okay! I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord! :)

-Tuesday morning I packed... holy moly. I have a lot of junk. It's sick!!!! But then we went to transfer conference! I got my new companion! Her name is Sister Mendoza! She is from the Philippians! (another Filipina!) She is 21 years old and has a super strong Testimony of the gospel! She is so sweet! But then we found out where we were going!!!! We were going to be doubled into or white washing an area in NJ! Back to being a Jersey girl... but let me just tell you... I am on the JERSEY SHORE BABY!! :) haha ever seen that TV show that makes the Jersey Shore famous? Yes. That's where I am! Crazy right? There are some sweet places here... there are such nice houses and wow it's great! :) So That's the big news! :)
So needless to say, that being doubled in is a little different! Sister Webb (my old comp) was the one that was here last and so she had everything organized for us... but the best thing about being in a new area, you get to do things different! So we spent the first couple days going through the area book and figuring out what we needed to do and who we needed to see in this area! We had a couple of appts with people, mostly Less Actives and nothing really too exciting! :) Just get to know you lessons! We have one investigator that lives down stairs from us! She seems like a sweetheart and she already knows the Book of Mormon is true! :) But yes, we spent a lot of time on the phone calling people who used to meet with the missionaries! So this next week will be more exciting to report on! :) We have a couple appts set up already so that should be great! :) But we need some prayers that we will be able to find new people to teach! :)

Okay so this ward is incredible!!!!! Get this... our Bishop is named Bishop Lindeman! Guess who he is related to? Mark Lindeman! It's his uncle!!!! I told him that Mark used to teach me in primary! :) He grew up in Ogden and everything so I am excited... I am sure we know more people in common!!! Small world!!! :)
The ward though is really loving and Sunday was so great because we actually got to meet the ward members!!!! Phew! :) But that is that, our apartment is sooo nice! We have a washer in our apt!!! uh... I don't know anything else that is really cool... ha! But know that I am doing really good! :)

Next week I will be able to report a little better... but that's that! :) Do you even realize how true the church is?? It's the greatest! We have a living prophet on the Earth!!!!!!!!!! He talks with God!!!!!! Christ Suffered for our sins!!!! And we have a whole book just to prove it... wow! :) I love this so much!
Well have a great week! Loves from the Jersey Shore! :)

So my invitation to you...

(This email is from Monday Feb. 10th)

SNOW SNOW GO AWAY!!!! NEVER COME ANOTHER DAY!!!!! haha! I think I need to be more positive about the snow... but I just feel like it's never going to go away! President and Sister Jeppson said this is the worst winter they have had! 3 lock down days this week.... but luckily only 2 were half days! But it's all good... the work still goes on! :) And we should have 2 baptisms this week! :) But here is our week:

Monday: Lock down all day... woot.

Tuesday: It unthawed a bit and we were able to go to Zone Meeting! That was great and our focus this month is on the Book of Mormon! President has challenged us to read it in 90 days! I love when he does this! The Book of Mormon is the greatest! :) But we came back and we were able to meet with our inv that loves the Bible... and we had a strong lesson with him about the Book of Mormon. He is so close to just accepting it... so he said okay… give me time to sit down and read it... come back in two weeks! So we agreed so we will see what goes on there! :) Then we saw a referral from our recent convert, her friend, and we taught her about the Restoration and we had a great lesson and she wants to keep listening! :) She really wants to go to church! Great day!

Wednesday: It snowed in the morning... but we had interviews with President! And luckily we made it out and we made it there and we had a great time with them... I love them so much! I tried to get out of Pres. If I was getting transferred but he wouldn't say... man! So we will see! :) But after that we went up and taught our baptismal candidate the Plan of Salvation! She loved it and she is excited to get baptized on Sunday! Then we were able to go and see our recent convert as well and had a good lesson with her and that was really our day! :)

Thursday: We did our weekly planning and then we were able to go and see our first baptism again! She is still so sweet and progressing slowly... but we were there with her mom too so it was a good lesson! Then we went and taught our second baptismal candidate and he is super excited to get baptized too! Then we went to see our second convert... she is still doing great! I love her! She is learning what it means to continually change for the better... it is great to watch that! Did I tell you that she wants to go to BYU? Cool huh?

Friday: We had a busy day on Friday! We were able to go and see the new investigators from last week! They are so great! It is a mom and her son and we asked them last week to read 3 Nephi 11 and they did and we asked them what they learned and the thing that stuck out to them the most was that Christ gave his authority to people... wow! How amazing is that? So that lead in perfectly for the Message of the Restoration!! They agreed to pray and continue reading! They are so great... I really hope they accept the gospel!!!!! But after that we went and tried to do service for a member... she just wanted to talk to us the whole time... ha! But then we went to see a Less Active and she was doing great! :) Then we went to see a member who is sick... and that was really needed! Then after that we went to see our recent convert and we signed her up on Family Search and we were trying to help her think of a name she could take to the temple! :) That was so fun!! I showed her my family line and she was like wow!!! That is so cool! :) Thanks Mom and Shauna... for making me look great... ;) oh yeah… random side note: One of the sisters taught us how to tie our hair in a doo rag!  We have been practicing! :) See photos!

Saturday: It was a slow day but we were able to go and teach our baptismal candidate again! That was fun! We helped her to understand the importance of the Book of Mormon! She has been reading it soooo good! :) After that we went and saw another Recent Convert and had a good lesson with him about reading his scriptures too. Then we went out contacting a bit then we were able to come home and get ready to go to Stake Conference! We drove to Caldwell, NJ and had it there and it was great...  a member of the 70 (who was also the Senator for Oregon) Elder and Sister Smith came and talked about Hastening the work! Probably the best topic a missionary could ask for! :) It was wonderful!!!

Sunday: Same thing next morning only we were able to go to Morristown because the chapel is bigger! It was all filled up and it was another great day hearing from them and the Stake Leaders! I saw so many people from Fardale! It was a fun little reunion! :) I have been in this Stake my whole mission! The Stake President came up to me and told me I was tough as nails... Don't really know what that means... but he is right! I am totally tough! ;) hahah But it was a good morning again! Filled with the Spirit! President and Sister Jeppson came too... it was great to see them! But after that, we went home and we saw our baptismal candidates again! Taught them some more and they are so excepting of everything! I am excited for next week for them! Then we did some studies and we went and saw an investigator and had an interesting lesson with him... but it's all good! he is just funny! But then it started to snow again and they told us it was time for lock down! :) Lovely! But it was still a great day!

It was a wonderful week. Something I learned that is cool to me... is with the focus on the Book of Mormon this month Pres asked us to pray to know if it is true every time we read it... I was a little hesitant at first because I was like... I already know it's true! Why do I need to ask more?? But I have tried it and I have been pleasantly surprised! Every time I do the Spirit witnesses to me so strong that it is true! That the people and the experiences are real! And my testimony is growing even more than it already was! And I am able to recognize the Spirit more and more! So my invitation to you... if you haven't asked in a while... just do it! :) Pray to know or confirm your feelings that the Book is true! I know by the power of the Holy Ghost, you will know the truth of all things! :)

Well that is our week! Might only have one more week here in New City! I will know next week! Hope all is well... Even in Florida. Lucky Dogs! I love ya all! :)

don't worry...just another snow day locked inside!

Well Good morning! :) Guess what we woke up to this morning? Another 4 inches of snow!!! I feel like I am in Alaska or something... it's getting a little out of control! But good thing we live so close to the Kay’s because they let us use their computer! :) ha! We are on lockdown and I am pretty sure we are like the only missionaries that can run next door and email! :) pretty luck I'd say! We will be stuck inside... probably playing 5 crowns again today! What a life! ;) haha!

Well goooo Seattle! I never realized how big of deal the super bowl was until it is almost impossible to get appointments! Superbowl parties are a big deal over here... but all is well! We still had a good... and exciting week! :)
Tuesday: We were able to go to district meeting then we were able to go and visit some people! We saw a member, then we saw an investigator! Then we went to see our baptismal candidates, the two kids who are going to get baptized in two weeks! Great lesson and we are super excited for that! :) But that was our day!

Wednesday: We had another great day, seeing a Less Active, and then our first convert and had a really great lesson with her! :) Then we were able to go to dinner at a member’s house and that was delicious! :)
Thursday: Well this is the exciting day! haha so we did our weekly planning like usual, then we were able to go to young mens and young womens that night! We had 7 nonmembers there… that is cool! The young women did a faith walk and we helped them with that and that was really fun! But then guess what??? Around 9 oclock we were getting ready to leave and all the sudden a young women comes around the corner and says there is water in the Relief Society room... so we run back there and there is water dripping from the ceiling! So by the time we get a garbage can and put it under there... the water started to pour from the ceiling!!!!!!!!!! It was everywhere!! So we ended up tearing off all the pictures and getting everything out of there and we ran out! They called the fire department and I guess the pipes froze and then burst and yes... it was a mess! So we got a picture with the fire truck... don't worry! :) But it was crazy! The whole back half of our church is flooded and currently under construction! Crazy night...

Friday: We had the best day ever on Friday! We taught 7 lessons! It was a record for me..... We were able to teach our recent convert and her son! They are both growing in the gospel sooo much! Then we were able to go and see an investigator again and help him with his faith! Then we saw a Less Active that we haven't seen in a while and that was really great... we had a lesson with her kids! Then we were able to go and see another recent convert we hadn't see in a while but she is great and she gave us a referral! :) Then we went to dinner at a member house!! Wooo! And then we had a lesson with a kid who comes to Young Mens and his mom even joined in the lesson! We taught them about the Book of Mormon and the Spirit was so strong!!!! I love being able to tell people about that Book for the first time... simply amazing! They agreed to read it and agreed to meet with us again! Hopefully something will come out of that! :) But yes... that was our day! The best!
Saturday: Not such a busy day, but we were able to go and see a member who is sick and we talk and comforted her for a sec, then we were able to go get our recent convert and go and teach an inactive member! That was fun! She loves coming out with us! She is such a good teacher! She testified to him this week about the Holy Ghost! She said she loves it so much and you always have to be doing the right things or it’s gone!!! ha she is just so cute! :) I want you all to meet her! I am trying to tell her to move to Utah... don't know how well that is going... ha! But anways... we did some contacting and found 2 new prospects! Got return appts for next week so hopefully something comes out of that! Then I'm not even gonna lie to you... for our dinner hour Sister Legg and I went and got Sushi! :)

Sunday: Well since our church is not doing so good right now... ha we were only were able to have one of our of church meetings and only use the chapel! So it was good... we had Sacrament meeting and the Spirit was great! :) As much drama happens in this ward I really truly love them all! I am really going to miss them if I ever get transferred! We had a couple investigators at church so that nice! And a guy who is planning on moving into Rockland County has been investigating the church for 10 years... he showed up and we were talking and he said his plan is to move her and get baptized! Pretty cool right? :) So we will see how that goes! :) After church we were able to get all our studies in… nice! :) Then we tried to think of all the people that weren't going to be watching the super bowl and we took our recent convert and went and saw some members and then we saw this guy who showed up at church the other day and we had an interesting lesson with him... He is from the body of Christ church and he pretty much just wanted to convert us.... nice try buddy! But that was our night! Pretty good week I'd say! :)
Wonderful week though! :) We were able to teach 21 lessons this week! The work here is really great and I am so grateful to be a part of it! I couldn't think of anything better than being able to testify to people what I KNOW to be true! As a missionary I literally get to offer people lasting peace and happiness. I bring to them the blessings of the Atonement of Jesus Christ! Through Him, everyone gets a second chance, a chance to be better! To live a better life! How lucky am I?

Well hope you all have a great week!!!!!! :) hope it is staying warm... don't worry it's not here. ha! Well Love you all very much! Talk to ya next week!
